Business Coaching with Dr. Ginger Garner

Hello and welcome!

I’m so glad you stopped by to get to know me. Let me introduce myself.

I’m Dr. Ginger Garner. As a woman-owned business and mother of three, I am passionate about advocating for access to healthcare that is effective, affordable, and holistic, especially for women. I’ve spent my 25+ year career creating “best fit” practices to use Yoga and other evidence-based Integrative & Lifestyle Medicine practices for improving patient care and self-care.

Public health and health promotion is important for our country – because a nation is only as healthy as its citizens. My mission is to help as many people as I can through dividing my time between teaching and seeing patients.

I am the author of Medical Therapeutic Yoga, slated for 4 foreign translations and currently published in English and Italian. The MTY text was born from what I saw as a great need to make yoga safe and accessible inside healthcare.

I live in Greensboro, NC with my husband, 3 sons, and our rescue Lab, Scout Finch.

Patient Care – EudeMOMia® Integrative PT & Lifestyle Medicine is located in Greensboro, NC inside the historic Revolution Mill. I see patients in-person and via telehealth, where I focus on integrative care for women. Click here to learn about the conditions I treat.

MY PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY – HOW I CAME TO BE A PT THROUGH YOGA

“I’ve been using Yoga & Pilates, combined with physical therapy, since the 1990’s, long before it was cool or trendy. It’s just a far more effective combination. I began to document my methods on this integrated approach, which ultimately gave birth to two things: my textbook, Medical Therapeutic Yoga, and creation of the first yoga certification for licensed healthcare professionals in 2001, the Professional Yoga Therapy Institute,® which in 2020 became Living Well Institute.”

MY PERSONAL JOURNEY – A MOTHERS RETURN TO WORK STORY

“Cultural conditioning has taught us to inadvertently misuse the word “work” by reserving it for activity that only happens outside the home. That marginalizes the great work of caregiving, whether for the young or old. The truth is…I’ve never really stopped working, so telling my “return to work” story means acknowledging a bigger societal issue: After a woman gives birth, using the phrase “return to work” implies that she wasn’t working when she grew that new human being and birthed him or her– and that devalues the work of mothering and hurts us all.”

“Since our country’s founding, women have been “Since our country’s founding, women have been left out of the constitution - intentionally.” When the ERA is ratified, we will be second-class citizens no longer.

This year is our chance after waiting 100 years since the legislation was originally introduced in 1923. I’m stoked to see this bipartisan effort already taking place in D.C.

Ratifying the ERA will absolutely help us improve and tackle long-neglected women’s health issues, such as the soaring maternal and infant mortality rate in the US.

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Ben Cardin (D-Md.) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) announced Thursday that the first bipartisan legislation they will introduce for the 117th Congress is their joint resolution to remove the deadline to ratify the Equal Rights Amendment. Ratification of the ERA would expressly prohibit discrimination on the basis of sex in the U.S. Constitution. In the House of Representatives, the resolution is being introduced by Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) and Congressman Tom Reed (R-N.Y.).

Almost exactly one year ago, in January 2020, Virginia became the 38th state to ratify the ERA, which was first proposed in 1972.

“There should be no time limit on equality. Even as we celebrate America’s first female Vice President, our nation is held back as the only modern constitution that fails to enshrine full equality for both men and women. This is unacceptable,” said Senator Cardin.

“Most Americans are surprised to learn that the ERA is not already part of the U.S. Constitution. The states have done their job to make this happen. Now Congress must finally do its job and remove any legal obstacles to certifying the ERA.”

“As we begin a new Congress, I can think of no better legislation to lead with than one that removes impediments to find ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment—an amendment that firmly embeds in law equality between men and women. We first moved the ERA through Congress back in 1972, but we stalled out on certification by the states until last year when Virginia ratified the ERA. After years of work alongside Senator Cardin, I urge my colleagues to join us in ensuring equality for all,” said Senator Murkowski.

Little girls everywhere, and the little girl in me Little girls everywhere, and the little girl in me, are seeing hope and dreams fulfilled today. We can now look to the White House and see someone that looks like us, for the first time in American history.

“No matter your party affiliations, today is a historic day for women and young girls in our country. Today a woman takes her place in one of the highest offices of our Country. I'm overcome with emotion today as I try to impart on my sons what this means to me personally. No matter your politics, today should be celebrated by all women.”

These are wise words shared from a fellow boy mom, Merianne Grigoriciuc.

We are mothers to 5 white sons between us - and it matters that we model and teach them to stand up for equality - which includes celebrating this long awaited achievement:

Kamala Devi Harris will today become our Nation’s first female, first black, and first Indian Vice President.

Today I’ll be celebrating this historic moment with all my boys!
