Why We Exist

From our founder, Dr. Ginger Garner:

I started practicing integratively when I began my career as an athletic trainer, in the early 1990’s. I was in sports medicine at the time, and my treatments were more effective when I included yoga and mindfulness. Now, nearly 30 years later, I’ve written multiple textbooks and papers on the topic, have spoken at dozens of conferences worldwide on the topic, and have trained hundreds of therapists and doctors.

Back when I started, using yoga and other integrative therapies was not only unheard of, I got lots of pushback from the industry and payors. Research has shown the integrative approach works, and for my patients in pain – it’s more effective and it gets longer-lasting results in shorter time frames.

I’m happy to have been a part of blazing this trail so that other therapists and doctors have a path to follow. And I’m thrilled to bring this integrative approach to every person and their pelvis in the Triad, and beyond. My mission is to make pelvic care accessible to everyone across the lifespan, through legislative advocacy, healthcare and social justice activism, through our clinical practice, and through giving back by teaching and mentoring the next generation.

Did you know we offer the only remote concierge and virtual FILM Physical Therapy care in the Triad and…

The Triad’s only comprehensive Lumbopelvic Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging (RUSI). Imaging is an advanced specialization and Garner Pelvic Health is one of the few clinics in the United States to offer it. Dr. Garner provides RUSI in pelvic physical therapy prescription which helps:

  • identify drivers for pelvic pain, low back pain, abdominal, and. hip pain
  • provide biofeedback for retraining core
  • tackle breathing impairments
  • improve and impact vocal health and longevity
  • guide pelvic floor therapy for bladder and bowel urgency, frequency, and leakage, including bowel problems like constipation
  • identify issues and visualize pelvic organ prolapse
  • screen for common postpartum issues that can cause chronic pain
  • identify issues that can help improve and resolve sexual dysfunction
  • assess for factors that influence hip pain

Dr. Garner provides Lumbopelvic Rehabilitative Ultrasound Imaging as part of Advanced Clinical Services at GPH.
